Ambong Rainforest Retreat

This property is entirely unique. A stone’s throw from bustling Pantai Tengah, it is amazing how detached you can feel from the rest of the world when nestled in your canopy up in the rainforest. I came here for much needed relaxation after lots of travel, and Ambong delivered! It was so serene to sit on my terrace overlooking the distant water, watching the hornbills and monkeys. Breakfast was delicious and I also enjoyed dinner both nights at the Rimba restaurant. I also enjoyed a massage at the spa, and highly recommend it! The real cream of this experience was the staff who were so very kind and attentive. I will be back!

All of the staff at Ambong were brilliant, so lovely to talk to and gave us great advice on things to do in the local area. As the rooms are up steep paths, the staff are available to pick you up from your room and drop you to breakfast or town, which we found really useful. Everyone treated us like family. We loved having breakfast every morning, in particular the roti canai and fresh fruit juice was brilliant. The view from the restaurant was amazing as well! Our room was massive with a large bed. The best part was definitely the view from our room overlooking the sea, and we saw monkeys right from our balcony! We would definitely recommend this place, the staff were truly brilliant, the food was great with lots of choice, and the room we had was amazing. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The views were superb. The units blend in beautifully with the forests. Treatment of the trees around the unit was superb. Trees were built around and not disturbed. The staff were superb. Nizal, Hazli, Hafiz, Danish, Shahirah, Ummi, Hazim, Prem were all superb. All of them serve with a smile. They are the things that turn an ordinary stay into a memorable stay. Nothing is too hard. House keeping was also superb. The Rimba restaurant breakfast is fantastic, the choice is wide and it's a big breakfast! The coffee is very very good! The views from the Rimba restaurant is spectacular.

I had such a relaxing stay at this cozy resort. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome—attentive, friendly, and always ready with a smile. The resort itself is tucked away in a peaceful corner, offering the kind of quiet that lets you truly unwind. My room was spotless and incredibly comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. Waking up to the breakfast view was a highlight—panoramic, calming, and the perfect way to start the day. Everything about the experience was smooth and soothing. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. This place is a gem.

Our stay at Ambong Ambong Resort was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like family, welcoming, warm, and incredibly helpful. My partner had a skiing injury, and the team went above and beyond, offering assistance without hesitation. They drove us around the resort with genuine care and kindness, making our stay even more comfortable. A special mention to Lee, Shifa, and Sherman, who were absolutely outstanding in their hospitality. The dining experience was equally impressive. Both restaurants served delicious, well-prepared dishes with a wide variety of options. The view from the top of one of the restaurants was simply breathtaking, definitely a highlight of our trip. The resort itself is a tranquil haven, surrounded by lush greenery and immersed in nature. Waking up to the sounds of birds and spotting monkeys in the trees added to the charm of the place. It's the perfect retreat for those looking to unwind in a peaceful, natural setting. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend Ambong Ambong Resort to anyone visiting Langkawi.
